Town of Danvers, MA
Danvers Water The water metering improvements project will include meter replacement and radio module installation at approximately 11,000 water utility customers in Danvers MA and Middleton MA. A pilot deployment of the metering systems was completed in the summer of 2011, and Town-wide deployment with NMS will begin in February of 2012. All water customers will receive a notice announcing the start of the Town-wide deployment program. Additional notices will be sent to customers when NMS begins work in your section of Town. The notice will request that you contact NMS to schedule a water meter replacement appointment. Access to customer’s premise will be required to install the new water meter and radio equipment, as most water meters are located inside of properties in the basement or in a utility room. The installation process takes about 20 minutes to complete during which a brief water service interruption of five to ten minutes will occur. Upon receipt of your mail notice from National Metering Services, Inc. you may call toll free 1-888-448-0009 to schedule an appointment, or use our online E-Appointments appointment request form. Appointments are available during normal business hours, but can also be scheduled in evenings or Saturdays, if required. Water Meter Installation Technicians from NMS will also be soliciting from door to door leaving reminder notices and making an effort to replace meters while in the local area. Customers are asked to secure loose pets, and to have the area around the water meter accessible and clear of storage.
