Customer notices will be mailed to all homes that are scheduled to have the new meters installed. The installation process takes about 10 - 15 minutes to complete. Customers are asked to have the area around the water meter clear and accessible for the technician. Technicians from National Metering Services, Inc., will also be soliciting door to door, replacing meters. Access to the home is required. Approximately 6,000 residential and commercial meters are scheduled to be installed.
All National Metering Services, Inc. employees are in uniform and have proper identification. All installers have had background checks completed by the State Police prior to employment.
Please call National Metering Services, Inc., within 10 days of receipt of your notice to schedule an appointment. Customers may also schedule an appointment online using our online appointment scheduler E-Appointments.
E-Appointments is a fast and convenient way for customers to schedule their meter replacement. All meters must be replaced or upgraded without exception.
The new meters offer benefits to both customers and the water utility:
· No longer generating or receiving estimated bills
· No longer giving a meter reader access to their home or property
· being billed and paying for exact water usage
