Start Date: July, 9 2010 Customer notices will be mailed to all homes that are scheduled to have the new meters installed. The installation process takes about 20 - 45 minutes to complete. Customers are asked to have the area around the water meter clear and accessible for the technician. Technicians from National Metering Services, Inc., will also be soliciting door to door, replacing meters. Access to the home is required. Approximately 8,000 meters are scheduled to be installed. All National Metering Services, Inc. employees are in uniform and have proper identification. All installers have had background checks completed by the State Police prior to employment. The new meters offer benefits to both customers and the water utility:  ·         No longer generating or receiving estimated bills  ·         No longer giving a meter reader access to their home or property ·         being billed and  paying for exact water usage  Meters & radios for this project are manufactured by Neptune Technology Group.
